We understand by emotional expressivity the external display of emotions, whether they are positive or negative, people use their face, voice o gestures to express their emotions. In society, it is very easy to misinterpret people's emotions from one culture to another and emotional expressivity is one of the things that is more easily misunderstood than many other things in cross-cultural differences. It's very easy to interpret different ranges to misinterpret different ranges of emotional expressivity.
Emotions are very important and we
need to work on them at school. Emotional education affects the development of
students, since it encourages their motivation, predisposes them to more positive
attitudes, improves their relationships and obtains better academic results.
As a teacher it is very important
that you teach your students to manage their own emotions like control anger,
know about fear, accept mistakes, have empathy, have good self-esteem. The
relationship with others is essential and necessary that we help others our
students to forge an emotional intelligence. For example, in the classroom you
have to work a lot on empathy, which is the ability to recognize, understand
and connect the emotions of others since in this way students become aware of
both their emotions and the emotions of others.
Working on emotional intelligence in
the classroom has many benefits, such as decrease anxiety, stress management, conflict
management, improve self-esteem, more academic success, tolerance for
frustration increases, emotional balance, less conflicto, improve social skills,
more mental health, improve empathy, better prosocial behaviors and many others.
That’s why this topi cis very essential to learn because we learn about our
students and how to help them in a better way.
Your blog post looks fantastic. I think it is especially important, after students have been isolated due to Covid, that we address emotional intelligence and help our students understand their own emotions and the emotions of others.
