Culture Differences Concerning Time is related to monochronic and polychronic world. In a polychronic world, they're not ruled by the schedule.  They're ruled by relationships and family.  In a polychronic world human relationships are more important than schedules, more important than time.  Latin America is mostly polychronic because they are polite and always worried about human relationships.  Also they are generally very sensitive about possibly hurting feelings.

In Latin America and all the polychronic societies, they kind of do believe it, that family really does come first and also best friends, too.  In the United States, relationships are important too, really but not quite as important as a polychronic country.  Don't ever avoid a relationship in the United States because they can help you, as well.

In a polychronic world, the teacher must act as a mediator between students, languages and cultures, not as a representative of a single, closed culture. The teacher must know the culture and have a role of representation of their own culture. I think that teacher would prepare practical classes, through debates, comments and presentations of the students. Also communication activities to promote development of linguistic and sociocultural competences, this will help to have a strong relationship between students and students with the teacher.

Interacting with people from different cultures helps you to have a better and different perspective of life. When you learn about other cultures, you learn new ways of thinking and solving problems. It’s important that diversity can be found in every classroom in the world. It can be a useful resource for teachers and students to learn new cultures and diversity, also get to know and relate to each other better.
